It dates back to 1702 when two blacksmiths surrendered portions of their land in order to create an alleyway that led to the river. The current Elfreth’s Alley houses were built between 1728 and 1836. WebThe Elfreth’s Alley Museum is open weekends April 14th through October 29th. The hours are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children (ages 7-12), and free for those under 7. Tickets can be purchased at the museum or on the website of the Independence Visitor Center.
