This engine has a tiny briggs and stratton 5 horse sized bore, and the long stroke of the 350. This engine can't make power because it can't breathe due to the tiny bore.

I agree your engine has way to much carburetor. Your vehicle would like a 400-450 CFM carb like one off of a dual 4 carb set up, they are around that size if you want to go with a 4 bbl.

WebJul 17, 2008 · I used a 267 in a 36 Chevy p/u with great results. It came out a 70k mile Monte Carlo. I added an Edelbrock Performer manifold, a Holley 390, a decent timing chain, and a Summit cam spec'd pretty close to a Performer. No idea about power but it is easy to do a burnout and gets about 20 mpg.
